FOR THE MEADOW NEIGHBOURHOOD AND SURROUNDING AREAS (COTLOW RD)
The last phase of development within the Meadow neighbourhood is underway, as we prepare for the next phase of houses to begin construction. You will soon notice some land clearing and earthmoving activities preparing the land for construction. This will have impacts to existing residents in adjacent areas near Cotlow, Sparrowhawk, Caspian, Song Sparrow, and Bonaparte as this work will be connecting the loop road network around Meadow Park. Meadow Park including the playground will also be proceeding as previously planned.
What to Expect?
The clearing and grading process require us to remove organic soil that was left behind by past activities on site. We are doing our best to carry out this essential work with little disruption possible.
What residents should expect:
A safe, responsible and clean operation.
These activities, in combination with drier summer conditions, will generate dust. As a result, we are increasing dust control mitigation measures such as:
A water truck using on-site water to wet working areas throughout the day
Mist generating equipment to minimize airborne dust.
Limiting truck speeds
The preparation of the site requires us to compact the land regularly which may cause noise and vibrations affecting surrounding residents. We have limited these activities to between 8 a.m. to 6 p.m., Monday through Friday.
The preparatory work is expected to last two months and will be the last major earthwork required in this area. Future work will be required in other areas including “The Ridge” neighbourhood below Wishart Rd.
We understand the disruption being caused and we want to thank you for your patience and understanding as we work to prepare for the final stages of the Meadow neighbourhood.
