Royal Bay Built: March

Coffee, New Homes, and Colour for Spring!

Royal Bay Built is your monthly update about what’s being built in this beautiful seaside community. Projects large to small, we’ll cover them all! During the month of March, here’s what the team at Royal Bay accomplished despite some interruption from the COVID-19 virus:

GableCraft Homes Update: Single Family Homes

  • In March, progress continued on the third phase of single-family homes at Royal Bay. These new additions to our community are now receiving concrete foundations, and starting of vertical construction. Within the coming weeks houses will start to “pop” up. To picture what these next steps in construction will look like, take a peek at the corner of Caspian Drive and Curlew Street. On the lot beside the finished ‘Neville’ showhome sits the partially-completed future show home the ‘Carlisle’, which starts at just $679,900 (incl. GST). If you’re one for entertaining, this new addition to the Royal Bay community is something you’re going to want to check out. Featuring 12 foot living room ceilings and a developed basement explicitly designed for social gatherings (did someone say “wet bar”!?), the ‘Carlisle’ is a perfect gathering place for post-Coronavirus get-togethers of all sizes.

Phase 2D Streetscape – Royal Bay

  • Meanwhile, a few blocks over, our team continued to put finishing touches on GableCraft Homes in Phase Two. These final stages of construction will bring some exciting splashes of colour to the neighbourhood: In the warmer weather, exterior painting on these residences can be completed, and lively green sod can be laid over their yards.

GableCraft Homes Update: Townhomes

  • In March, progress continued on Compass Townhomes at Royal Bay. The prep work for the internal road was completed with curbs installed so you can really visualize how these new townhomes will be laid out. Moving into the month of April buildings 1, 2 and 4 are all sold out! Units are now available from the upper $400’s excl. gst.

Community Amenities

  • Within the coming months, you’ll be able to smell fresh beans brewing in Royal Bay! Construction on the Sequoia Drive Thru Coffee Shop officially kicked off in March, with land at 365 Latoria being levelled and prepared for the sea cans that will house the business. The sea can itself is under construction as you can see in the picture below! The café is slated to open for the community in Summer 2020. Read more about this project by clicking here.
  • Following up on items detailed in last month’s edition of Royal Bay Built, the landscaping for the pedestrian portion of Metchosin Road is planned for April. Additionally, in cooperation with the owners of the Royal Beach land and the City of Colwood, design has started for a traffic signal at the intersection of Latoria Boulevard and Metchosin Road. Construction for this safety feature will synch with construction on The Commons Village Centre.
